Q: How do I travel from Tullamarine Airport to Geelong?
A: 
You can take the Gull bus service, which provides a direct connection from Tullamarine Airport to Geelong. The fare is $39 one way or $72 return, and buses depart approximately every hour. The bus arrives at 45 McKillop St, Geelong, which is a 5-minute Uber or 20-minute walk from Deakin Geelong Waterfront Campus  View the timetable here. Alternatively, you can take an Uber from Tullamarine Airport to Geelong. The ride takes around 70 minutes and costs approximately $150.

Q: What’s the best way to travel from Melbourne City Centre to Geelong?
A: 
If travelling from Melbourne’s Southern Cross Station, you can take the V/Line train to Geelong, which takes about 90 minutes. To get to Southern Cross Station from Tullamarine Airport, the SkyBus service is available for $23.

Q: How can I travel from Avalon Airport to Geelong?
A: 
Avalon Airport is just 15 km northeast of Geelong. The easiest option is to use rideshare services, such as Uber, which costs approximately $35 and takes 30 minutes. Public transport from Avalon is limited, so rideshare is recommended.

Q: How much time is allocated for conference presentations?
A:
 Each presentation is 15 minutes, followed by 5 minutes for Q&A and 5 minutes for changeover. All sessions are held in Building D, near the John Hay Courtyard, making it easy to move between rooms.

Q: How do I upload my presentation?
A: Y
ou can email your presentation to smaanz@deakin.edu.au ahead of time or bring it on a USB. Computers will be available in each presentation room, with log-in details provided. If you bring your presentation on a USB, please save it to the desktop in your assigned room during the break before your session. Volunteers will assist with uploading emailed presentations to ensure smooth transitions between speakers.

Q: Where do I collect my conference lanyard and bag?
A: 
The registration desk is located in the gallery/foyer area next to the John Hay Courtyard. Registration will be open at the following times:

  • Tuesday: 9:30 am–4:00 pm
  • Wednesday: 8:30 am–3:00 pm
  • Thursday & Friday: 8:30 am–end of the academic program
  • Wednesday evening: From 3:30 pm at The Pier

Your lanyard is required for access to the Welcome Function and Conference Dinner.

Q: What should I wear to the conference dinner?

The dress code for the conference dinner is smart business or cocktail attire.
