SMAANZ Conference Travel and Attendance Policy

As your health is our priority the event will be compliant with all government health requirements at the time of the event. This includes appropriate social distancing, provision of hand sanitiser, face masks, and registration of all attendees and delegates in compliance with government requirements.

The following standard cancellation policy will be in place:

  • Cancellation up to 11.59pm AEST on 30 September ($100 of conference fee is non-refundable) 
  • Cancellation up to 11.59pm AEST on 23 November (50% of conference fee is non-refundable)
  • Cancellation after 11.59pm AEST on 23 November (No refund of registration fee)

Our standard cancellation policy is applicable to anyone who wishes to cancel for any non-medical related reasons. Cancellations must be in writing and will be effective as of the date on the cancellation email.

Attendance withdrawal due to medical reasons or health directives

Where medical related issues or government health directives (including quarantine requirements) prevent travel, a partial refund may be provided. In these cases, the standard cancellation policy detailed above will apply as a minimum refund option, at the discretion of SMAANZ and the conference organising team. Where medical reasons prevent travel and a refunds is requested, medical certification will need to be provided.

Conference cancellation

For any circumstances beyond their control (for example government imposed restrictions or other unforeseen event), SMAANZ and the conference organising team reserves the right to modify or cancel, without prior notice, any of the arrangements relating directly or indirectly to an event. In the case of the physical event being cancelled, the event will, where possible, transition to an online event. In this instance the standard cancellation policy detailed above will apply as a minimum refund option, at the discretion of SMAANZ and the conference organising team.

Insurance

We strongly recommend attendees take out travel insurance to cover cancellations for travel costs, hotel costs, or any other additional costs incurred to attend the conference as SMAANZ or the organising committee does not take any responsibility for out-of-pocket expenses in this regard.
